One-on-one immersive shows
Theater producer Weng Shihui made a leap of faith to return to Shanghai with two one-on-one immersive shows, and an international team of artists.
This time, it was Weng and her team who asked audiences also to take a leap of faith – to be blindfolded, tied up in a wheelchair and pushed into a room where your senses are caressed.

Copper furnace art exhibition
Amid the fragrance of incense, a copper furnace art exhibition offers a glimpse into the old craft of Xuande copper furnace foundry dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
The display features some 70 works of Chinese copper furnace master Chen Qiaosheng and his disciples. Chen was born into a copper furnace making family in Suzhou, neighboring Jiangsu Province. He restored the old techniques, and kept innovating to promote its inheritance and development.

Blossoms on a Spring Moonlit Night
Kunqu Opera prince Zhang Jun will perform "Blossoms on a Spring Moonlit Night" for Shanghai audience next month before bidding farewell to the stage for a while. Zhang, 48, will then return to his position as headmaster of the Shanghai Opera School.

Special Exhibition of Architect Tong
It's not a common practice for a museum to devote two exhibition venues to one person, but Jiushi Art Museum is doing it for architect Tong Jun (1900-1983). Tong was a master of his generation, not only in architectural design, but also in painting and gardening.
The exhibitions, titled "Westbound Paintings – Southeast Garden Villa – Special Exhibition of Architect Tong (1900-1983)," are on display at both Jiushi Art Museum and the Jiushi Art Salon. They include a large number of Tong's manuscripts, historical documents and architectural drawings that are displayed for the first time.

The Power of the Rock
Mineral-color painting is created using main materials like rock powder, colored soil and sand. The source of "mineral-color art" can be traced back to the 3rd-century murals of Kucha Grottoes in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Curated by Miao Tong, the exhibition has invited 25 outstanding Chinese and Japanese artists who have long been active in the field of "mineral-color art" creation, research and technique.

We borrow dreams from others like debt
There is a mysterious place called Madeln Museum on Chongming Island. All the artworks here "grow" with nature in the natural setting instead of being placed in white boxes.
Madeln Museum in Luhua Town consists of eight farmhouses near the Huangpu River. The first thematic display here is titled, "We borrow dreams from others like debt." Artworks by 13 artists from various media interact and "grow" with each other.

The 6th Festival of Education
